Instinct, Meet Your Destiny

The number one question I always hear from people is what is my destiny? So let’s talk about your instinct and how it fit’s in with your destiny.

Instinct is the way you are wired. You hear someone say, you’re a natural at something. Or that you have a natural instinct to do something; a God given ability.

Until you combine your instinct with your destiny, you will never truly feel a completeness in your life.

When a manufacturer builds a lamp and puts the wiring in place, the lamp will not fulfill it’s final destiny until the lamp’s cord is plugged into a wall socket. Until then the lamp will never truly shine.

This is the case for many of us. Instinct allows us to find out who we are at the core; what we excel at. Our gifts and talents. But until you find your outlet, you will never truly fulfill your destiny.

Destiny shows you how to be grounded into a place where you fit. How to resist the urge to run. Many of us run from our destiny. You will be surprised for many of us God has something for us we didn’t choose ourself. The moments in your life you thought you were to shy, to small, to slow to accomplish what God truly has for your life.

How many of you have had opportunities present themselves to you but you were too afraid to act on it, but so drawn to them.

Allurement and intimidation cohabit-ate within us; there roommates.

Isn’t it funny how you can be draw towards your destiny yet terrified at the same time.

Let me share this important piece. Many of us, especially in today’s world we want the results but don’t want to put in the work. We live in a give it to me now world. The truth is if you think back to when you were a child and won your first trophy. Or performed in your first recital and finished in first place. It’s usually not the award you think back mostly on. The award sits on the mantle collecting dust or is in storage. What usually matters most or you remember the most is the work, effort and journey you went through to get that award. The real gift is what you learned in the process.

It’s the process that matters most, not the final destination.

I talked about this in my piece about the woman with the issue of blood and how Jesus healed her along the way to his final destination. It’s the moments that lead up to the destination that usually have the greatest meaning to us.

Many are attracted to the prize, or the outcome but never reach the end because the work or the process is too difficult.

Remember anything to easy you will not appreciate having.

When we talk about stepping into your destiny. Many are excited about the thought but when you begin the steps towards that destiny you will be surprised how much you enjoyed the process more so than the destiny.

No one can ever take away what you learn in the process. People see you as the CEO of a great company but don’t realize that when you started with 3 people, there was weeks you had to go without a salary so you can pay your employees. Or like many of us, our parents would tell us they had to walk to school without shoes because their parents couldn’t afford them. But they made it and so will you. This is the real treasure of life.

My brother-in-law, told me a saying by a man named Willie Jolly that I will never forget. He said

A Set-Back is a Set-up for a Come-Back
