Why did Jesus need to be born?

As we celebrate the season of CHRIST-mas we must always remember it’s not about the gifts, the eggnog or the people we kiss under the Mistletoe. It is solely about God’s greatest gift to mankind. The birth of Jesus Christ. Even though December 25th is the time of the year we celebrate this joyous event, if you do your research you will quickly find that it is most likely that Jesus was not born in December but probably late September or early October. The truth is September, October or December really doesn’t matter. What matters is that God chose to come to earth and walk with man in the form of flesh.
There are many reasons why this is important, most of all so that mankind would have a redeemer for our sins. I understand some that are reading this may not agree and I’m not here to debate you. Those that accept that Christ was born, died and rose on the third day and shed his blood for our sins are blessed that the Father has revealed this to them and for those that have not accepted this fact we can only pray for them.
The shortest verse in the Bible is “Jesus Wept” John 11: 35
Those that understand that God is God, can do anything and because he is the Alpha & Omega, know that he knows all things that happened or that will happen before the existence of time. So why is this verse important? Because it shows that God almighty in all his sovereignty came to earth in the flesh and experienced all the same pains and joys we experience.
So why the importance of his birth. As I mentioned there are many important reasons but for this message I will focus on one reason.
When we have a friend or family member that loses someone special, a mother, a father, a sibling etc. we are quick to say I know what you’re going through. The truth is, unless you actually have gone through what someone else has also gone through, you truly don’t know what someone is going through. Instead of saying I know how you feel, we really need to say I emphasize with you.
Sympathy vs. Empathy:
The difference in meaning is usually explained with some variation of the following: sympathy is when you share the feelings of another; empathy is when you understand the feelings of another but do not necessarily share them.
Why it was important for God to come to earth in the form of a physical body is so when we laugh, we cry and all the different emotions we go through in the course of our lifetime as a human being, When Jesus says I know and feel your pain he can be sympathetic with us because he actually went through our different forms of pain in the physical.
